Statements by the head of the East Coast Naval District, Rear Admiral Ekstrand 1951
At the end of January 1951, Birger Claesson, in the company of a few other people, visited Rear Admiral Yngve Ekstrand to inform him of the content of the view that he had had in December 1950 and which he then published in the brochure "Dom över Sverige", printed in February 1951.
Rear Admiral Ekstrand, who was born in died at the end of March of that year, made a statement to a newspaper, from which the following is quoted here:
"I must admit," says Admiral Ekstrand, "that I found the vision strange. I would not like to reject it as incorrect. Most of what was said in the pastor's revelation was strategically correct, indeed, the whole thing was even so skillfully calculated that I hardly believe that someone who is not reasonably familiar with military matters could have carried out such a driven strategy, other than by pure chance of course.
The operation assumes that Denmark is occupied in advance by the enemy power. This is not inconceivable, since in this case it would be the final stage of a major war. The entire attack plan is reminiscent of the familiar German plan for an occupation of Sweden. Pastor Claesson can hardly be thought to have taken part in this. The pastor's detailed descriptions from the various fronts also agree well with what is likely to happen in the event of a possible attack on Sweden."
So far the newspaper.
"I believe in revelation", the admiral told me, when I visited him.I said to the admiral: "I have publicly proclaimed this three times, what do you say about it?"Then the admiral replied: "You shall proclaim this to the entire Swedish people as far as you can, for the only thing that can save Sweden this time is that the Swedish people are morally built up on the old Christian foundation."
